"Pes mou, pote m'agapises" by Marialena Mykoniati

Protasis Music proudly presents a powerful new release:
"Pes mou, pote m'agapises" (Tell Me, When Did You Love Me), interpreted by the deeply expressive voice of Marialena Mykoniati.

Born in Athens and raised in Amaliada, Peloponnese, Marialena began her musical journey at the age of seven. Her classical and later electric guitar studies, alongside music theory at the Amaliada Municipal Conservatory, laid a solid foundation for her artistry. It was there that she also joined her first vocal ensembles through the conservatory choir.

In her adult life, Marialena shifted her focus to vocal performance, which she continues to study at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory under the guidance of the renowned Lia Vissi.

Her artistic path has been as dynamic as it is diverse. She has released an EP titled “Nurus Diabolica” via Terror Records in 2021 – a raw, dark offering deeply rooted in the Hellenic Black Metal tradition and inspired by historical narratives. In parallel, she independently releases music through her personal project Silent Cries, where she writes, composes, and plays all instruments herself.

With "Tell Me, When Did You Love Me", Marialena makes her debut in Greek-language music by paying tribute to her teacher, Lia Vissi. The track is a heartfelt cover of one of Vissi’s songs, chosen not only for its emotional depth but also for its significance to Marialena’s musical awakening. It reflects her admiration for Vissi’s contribution to Greek music over the past five decades and her desire to revisit the emotional essence of the ‘90s – a decade that shaped much of the country’s modern musical identity.

Originally featured on Lia Vissi’s album “Tha Pao Apo Erota”, the song touched Marialena profoundly from the very first listen, serving as the cornerstone of the musical connection the two artists share.

Lyrically penned by Anna Bithikotsi, "Tell Me, When Did You Love Me" is an emotionally charged piece, rich with introspection and poetic melancholy. While stepping away from her usual rock terrain, Marialena embraces the emotional challenge, revisiting the song’s central question as an open letter to all unfulfilled loves – the ones buried deep within our hearts that subtly shape our emotional evolution.

The release marks a bold, yet tender step into a new chapter of Marialena’s career – one defined by reverence, rediscovery, and a deepening artistic voice.
