Marialena Mykoniati presents her first personal single, “S’ Afino Piso (I Leave You Behind)”, marking the beginning of a new and defining chapter in her creative journey. Written and composed by Mykoniati herself, the song is not only an artistic confession, but a clear and conscious statement: against domestic violence, against silence, and against the normalization of fear.

“S’ Afino Piso” speaks about the moment when something inside you stops negotiating. The transition from tolerance to self-protection, from “maybe it’s my fault” to “it’s not my fault”, from “things will change” to “I’m leaving.” Without resorting to graphic language or easy dramatization, the song follows a more essential path, shedding light on the psychological reality created by abuse and, most importantly, on the act that interrupts it — the decision to set a boundary and step out of the cycle.

Built around its lyrics, the narrative unfolds in a way that allows space for recognition, identification, and breath. The song addresses not only those who have lived through similar experiences, but also those who stand beside them, reminding listeners that domestic violence is not a “private matter” and that no form of it — verbal, psychological, economic, or physical — is acceptable.

Production and orchestration are by Christoforos Krokidis, who also performed all the instruments on the recording. His approach gives the song a unified identity: an arrangement that supports the story rather than overpowering it, with dynamics that follow the inner tension of the text and sonic details that serve the song’s dramaturgy without excess.

“S’ Afino Piso” marks the first time Marialena Mykoniati fully signs her own narrative in a Greek-language personal release — and this beginning arrives with substance, intention, and purpose. A song as a boundary. A song as an exit. A song that states clearly: no one has a right over you.
